Terms of use
Whiteboard Revision, by Polar Industries. Last updated 27 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Polar Industries, which runs Whiteboard Revision. By making an account or using the app you agree to them. They're written to be read, so they're short.
Who can use it
- Whiteboard Revision is for students aged 13 and over. If you're under 18, check with a parent or carer that they're happy for you to use it.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
What it costs
- Whiteboard Revision is free for students. There are no adverts and nothing to buy in the app.
- Schools can buy a licence that covers everyone who signs in with the school's Microsoft 365 account. A school licence is agreed with the school separately.
- If we ever start charging students for anything, we'll say so clearly in the app first, and nothing will be charged without you choosing to pay.
Your notes are yours
- You own the photos you take and the notes and flashcards made from them. We only use them to give you the typed notes, the notes check and the flashcards (see the privacy policy).
- Only photograph things you're allowed to: your own notes, or class material your teacher is happy for you to use.
- Don't use Whiteboard Revision to upload anything illegal, hurtful or that isn't revision.
Check what it tells you
Whiteboard Revision uses an AI model to read your handwriting, check your notes against your exam specification and write flashcards. It's usually right, but it can make mistakes. Check anything important against your textbook or with your teacher. It doesn't replace your teacher or your exam board's own materials.
Keeping it running
- We work to keep the app available, but we can't promise it will never be down or never change. Your boards are saved on your device, so keep your device backed up.
- We may suspend an account that's used to break these terms or to attack the service.
Leaving
You can stop using Whiteboard Revision at any time and delete your account from the app: tap your name at the top of Home, then Delete account.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.
